BIO

I first realized that I enjoyed creative writing as a kid when I published a ‘newspaper’ about my family, reporting on illnesses, pet antics, and general goings-ons. We were a family of four, so any ‘breaking news’ was already well known by the time I had printed out my newspaper but I enjoyed it anyway.

My second foray into publishing came as a creative writing assignment in a high school English class. I had printed out two copies of my short story; one to submit and another to pass around my friends. I distinctly remember watching one of them ignore our French instructor in favor of reading my story instead, flipping through the stapled pages eagerly. It was the first time someone enjoyed fiction I had written.

Now, I submit my writing to you.

My stories began as a way to put myself to sleep. I thought if I could imagine fantastic scenarios where my crush was my knight in shining armor just before falling asleep then maybe he would appear in my dreams. This evolved from wanting to insert myself in the stories I was consuming to change the plot, and then the characters and eventually make them mine. Fanfiction (unpublished, thank God) slowly changed into original art.

My writing style focuses on tackling my own trauma. I’m not afraid to air my dirty laundry out through my characters because I know I am not alone. I use my characters to work though insecurities, negative self talk, and anxiety, to name a few things. As they heal, I heal with them and I hope that my readers likewise can find some solace of their own.

The smut never hurts either. 😉

I love main female characters who are simply human. Obviously they are special but they are still ordinary people who fit into our society and you would pass plainly on the street without notice. They struggle, they suffer, they survive, and by the end of their stories I want them to thrive despite whatever hurts they have endured.

I like dabbling in different styles of writing, so you may see books in the future that are in different tenses, points of view, and narrators. I hope you enjoy the variety with me.

I currently live in the Pacific Northwest with my cat Titan, who loves cuddling with me when I read. He also hates it when I write, because my laptop takes up his favorite space in my lap.
